Kanonji City is famous for its coin-shaped sand painting “Kanei Tsuho”.
It is a museum created by volunteer citizens in 1988 after the Zenigata.
About 2000 coins from 125 countries, as well as coins from each country and old coins, are on display in the museum.
You can learn while looking at the illustrated explanations that make it easy to understand the history and importance of money.
There are also rare exhibits such as the chips of 100 million yen worth of banknotes and the world’s largest stone money on Yap Island.
